120.     Scarlet Watson was born 26 Jul 1801 in Near Fairfax Court House, VA. He died 09 Feb 1876 in Vigo Co., Indiana and was buried in Watson Cemetery, Prairie Creek Twp., Vigo Co., IN. Scarlet married Keziah Walker on 17 Dec 1825 (bond) in Nelson Co, KY.  Scarlet Watson's parents were John M. Watson and Permilia Fisher.

 

According to Watson family records, Scarlet Watson and Keziah Walker had eight children: Richard, James Buchanan, John Marine, Ann, Permelia, Sarah, Scarlet JR., and Keziah jr.

Scarlett was reared and married in KY, coming to Sullivan Co., IN with his family and parents in 1828, afterward moving to Vigo Co (approx. 1835/36, when son James Morrison Watson was 8 years old).  He was an influential citizen, having served as township trustee several years, and as assessor for two terms, he died in Vigo Co.

121.     Keziah Walker "Kesia Kizzia" was born 21 Jul 1805 in Nelson Co. / Spencer Co., KY. She died 04 Jan 1885 (death certificate not found) in Prairie Creek Twp., Vigo Co. IN.  She was buried in Watson Cemetery, Vigo Co., IN (Kiziah on the left side of stone), sharing the tombstone of her husband Scarlet Watson.  Keziah's parents were Mareen Duvall Walker and Ann Berry.

 

Keziah Walker's father was Mareen Duvall Walker. He married Ann Berry in Prince George's cty. MD. Mareen's parents were Gideon Walker and Priscilla Duvall. Priscilla's ancestry can be traced back to Mareen Duvall, the emigrant from Normandy, France. The Duvalls were nobles (knights) and fled religious persecution in France. They were Huguenots.
